HSDC Southdowns Campus - Second Floor Refurbishment

Introduction & Overview

Havant and South Downs College (HSDC) is a leading Further and Higher Education College which was formed on 1 August 2017 after the merger of South Downs College and Havant Sixth Form College. In 2019, the college also merged with Alton College creating three campuses based in Hampshire.

South Downs Main Building Second Floor 2024 project works consisted of a refurbishment of the existing Second Floor within the College’s Main Building. There was a mixture of general-purpose and IT classrooms, media studio classrooms, new science labs, a Healthcare ward, and other required rooms such as offices, praying room, storerooms, toilets, etc.

The project was funded via two separate funding streams, Further Education Capital Transformation Fund (FECTF), and the T-Levels Wave 5 capital fund, which funded the western-wing of the second Floor (Media T-Level).

The project commenced on-site in Spring 2024. PMc Team acted as project manager and client advisor and led the RIBA Stage 3 & 4 design development and review, the Tender Process, the contractor appointments and the construction process until the completion of the project in Autumn 2024, and supported the college with the specification of FFE requirements and external and internal stakeholder communications.
