HSDC Alton Campus - LSIF
Introduction & Overview
Havant and South Downs College (HSDC) is a leading Further and Higher Education College which was formed on 1 August 2017 after the merger of South Downs College and Havant Sixth Form College. In 2019, the college also merged with Alton College creating three campuses based in Hampshire.
The Beacon Science Building is located centrally on the college’s Alton Campus, and the college has launched a new Space Technologies Programme for L3 learners in September 2024 for students who want to pursue a career in the Space and Satellite sector. The building is divided into two floors, with the entrance at Ground Floor and stairs leading down to a Lower Ground Floor. The refurbishment and reconfiguration works were completed in part of the Lower Ground Floor.
The works included the refurbishment of the main circulation/breakout space (901), Two of the science classrooms and one general purpose classroom (905, 906 & 907) to provide a more modern and suitable facility that will meet educational needs and improve the college’s teaching spaces.
