South Staffordshire College - Rodbaston Energy Sustainability Centre

This project will see the refurbishment and reconfiguration of the College’s existing 1,250m² existing construction workshops to create Rodbaston Green Energy Sustainability Centre associated theory teaching space.

 This workshop has recently supported the College’s Brick, Carpentry and multi-trades provision, which has been relocated to the Cannock campus, thus creating space for the delivery of the Rodbaston Green Energy Centre and supporting the delivery of the Construction: Building Services Engineering which will include spaces for the delivery of T Level studies as well as other programmes from level 1 to level 4. The proposed elements of the project which were featured in the funding application include: 

·                  Practical plumbing & electrical installation bays; 

·                  Electric vehicle charging installation training zone;  

·                  Mock PV panel installation training roof; 

·                  Green energy practical teaching zones; 

·                  Up to three theory-based classrooms; 

·                  Technicians office space; 

·                  Associated storage, locker space and changing facilities. 

The project is fully funded by the Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire Local Enterprise Partnership, with the successful outcome of the application confirmed in July 2023.

 PMc are appointed for the project under the role of client side Project Managers, Client Advisors, and Quantity Surveyors. The project is led by George Hounsome, Project Manager, with support from Matthew Elliott, Assistant Project Manager. We are working with Ridge to provide cost consultancy support during the design stage – including the preparation of pre-tender estimates.
