South Staffordshire College - T Level Wave 5 Rodbaston Animal Care Centre

PMc were appointed in January 2023 to support the College in putting together a funding application to the Department of Education (DfE) to construct a new T Level animal care centre as part of T Level Wave 5 capital fund. PMc worked with the College to develop the design concept, costings, programme, education case and other required documentation as part of the application. Confirmation that the application had been successful, and funding had been secured was confirmed in July 2023.

PMc were subsequently appointed by the College in August 2023 as client side Project Managers, Client Advisors, and Quantity Surveyors to deliver the project. The project was led by George Hounsome, Project Manager, with support from Matthew Elliott, Assistant Project Manager.

The project consisted of the demolition of the existing ‘end of life’ timber frame building and replaced with a stated of the art animal care teaching facility.

Key features of the build include:

• general teaching classrooms;
• Technology Lab;
• Aquatic zone;
• Animal Isolation zone and store; and,
• Toilet and storage facilities

The project started onsite in June 2024 following the appointment of E Manton Limited. Practical completion was issued in January 2025 with the project delivered on time and on budget.
